Jay Spaeder

CEO

As a member of the L.U. 449 and L.U. 47 – General Foreman Pipefitter (1983-2014), Jay Spaeder has been CEO since 2016 and manager of the service division since 2007. The division has expanded dramatically under his leadership, and its staff of over 40 technicians offers emergency repairs and maintenance services to industrial, commercial, and residential customers.

Jay has 38 years of experience, consisting of 10 years of fieldwork, 19 years of managing HVAC and industrial projects, and nine years of divisional management. He is committed to the education and development of young tradesmen, has served on the Apprenticeship Committee for L.U. 47 and 449, and was instrumental in the development of the Apprentice & Journeyman Training Facility in Erie, PA.

Mary Kay Reber

CFO

During Mary Kay’s 30 years at Spaeder, she has shared in the company’s challenges and triumphs as it has grown in size and capabilities. In her role as Chief Financial Officer, she oversees the company’s major financial decisions. She also works with the other company owners to guide its strategic growth. Steering a 100+ year old family-owned company into the future can be exciting but every decision is pivotal and every detail important to ensure success and longevity. Before deciding to join the family business, Mary Kay worked in a variety of management positions and holds an advanced degree from Bowling Green State University as well as an MBA from Penn State. Her educational background compounded by years of experience in mechanical contracting offers a finely tuned perspective that provides critical insight into the company’s business development and financial goals.

Jeff Holloway

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER  & PRECONSTRUCTION

Jeff Holloway brings over 30 years of mechanical contracting experience to Spaeder where he leads our corporate strategy efforts to further position the company for long-term growth. Jeff came to Spader as a Division Manager and most recently served as Operations Manager where he led our project management, labor and QC teams. Jeff’s experience includes commercial, industrial, governmental, and water/wastewater projects throughout the eastern US. Jeff has held a variety of positions during his career including Project Manager, Sr. Project Manager, Project Director, and Vice President/Corporate Principal.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and is a registered Professional Engineer. Jeff also completed the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Institute for Project Management, is a graduate of the MCAA Advanced Leadership Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Tom Kaspick

VICE PRESIDENT – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Tom Kaspick is our VP of Business Development. He partners with CEOs, Business Owners, Facility and Maintenance Managers and others to share with them the advantages of working with a full-service mechanical contractor and the benefits the Wm. T. Spaeder Company can provide. After spending nearly three decades working with many businesses in the region, Tom understands what truly drives conversations, what customers expect and what we can do to help them make their companies and projects better. It’s how well you connect with the people you’re trying to help and communicate your understanding back to them that can make this working partnership a true asset to our customers.

Tom has worked with a large diversity of customers in our area as well as doing cost-savings consulting work from New England to the Gulf Shore. His attention to detail, understanding of what customers want/need, and building long term relationships is an asset valued by our customers, just like our quality of work. Tom believes that keeping the customer informed and meeting their goals and expectations is yet another added benefit of the Wm. T. Spaeder Company being a full-service mechanical contractor.

Rod Coburn

CONTROLLER

Graduating from Grove City College in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Rod brought more than 20 years of accounting experience to the Wm. T. Spaeder company when he joined our team in 2014. As the company’s Controller, he has worked closely with CFO and shareholder, Mary Kay Reber, and he has a keen understanding of the fiscal responsibility that underpins the endurance of the company as well as what it takes to position Spaeder for growth well into the future.

Scott McNabb

CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Development, Scott has over 30 years of global experience in the Industrial, Technology & Energy sectors. Holding positions in Operations, Automation, Business and Engineering with certifications in Six Sigma, APICS, Lean and Leadership Development. This adds to his 25 years of experience and knowledge within the field of Human Resources, which he has been a part of in numerous HR roles from Generalist to Executive levels.

Scott has a vast background in Organizational and People Development, coaching and mentoring employees to bring out their best and enhance the organization.  He believes in focusing on the growth of the employee while enhancing the efficiency of the business leads to success.  Safe- guarding the culture that has been established by the Spaeder founders in order to provide a lasting legacy and an employer of choice in our communities that we serve.

Elliot Spaeder

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Elliot Spaeder brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the business gained over his long tenure with the company. Joining the Wm. T. Spaeder Company in 2006 as a member of the Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669, Elliot’s career has spanned various roles, providing him with a comprehensive perspective on both field operations and office management. As COO, Elliot is dedicated to upholding Spaeder’s longstanding commitment to customer satisfaction while driving safety, quality, and efficiency across all construction projects. He is passionate about fostering a collaborative environment and supporting the talented team at Spaeder Company.

Elliot holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from Gannon University. He has further enhanced his project management skills by completing the MCAA Institute for Project Managers in 2015 and the MCAA Advanced Institute for Project Managers in 2024. He is also certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Fire Protection Engineering Technologies, specializing in Water-Based System Layout.

Jayson Spaeder

VICE PRESIDENT – SERVICE

Jayson Spaeder has built his entire career with Wm. T. Spaeder Company, starting as a member of L.U. 47 and L.U. 449 from 2005 to 2022. After gaining hands-on experience in the field, he transitioned into office operations in 2012, serving as a Project Manager and leading key projects with precision. Over time, Jayson expanded his expertise into estimating, focusing on project planning, budgeting, and cost management. He also holds a degree in Business Administration, providing a strong foundation in leadership, business strategy, and operations.

As Vice President of Service, Jayson drives the department’s growth and ensures the delivery of exceptional service across plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, refrigeration, electrical, and generator services. He is passionate about building high-performing teams, fostering long-term client relationships, and empowering the next generation of skilled tradespeople, while upholding the core values of Wm. T. Spaeder Company.
