The Show Must Go On: Wm. T. Spaeder Responds to Emergency Power Situation During America250PA Concert

At Wm. T. Spaeder, solving problems and responding when our community needs us most is what we do every day. Whether it’s troubleshooting critical systems, restoring essential services, or providing 24/7 emergency support, our team is always ready to answer the call.

On Saturday, June 6, our team was called into action when rolling power outages affected portions of downtown Erie on the day of the America250PA concert at Erie Insurance Arena.

With thousands of attendees expected and uncertainty surrounding the area’s electrical service, event organizers needed a dependable power solution to ensure the concert could proceed without interruption.

After receiving the emergency request, our crew quickly mobilized to develop a solution. With the support of Cleveland Brothers, who helped us secure the generators needed on short notice, our team was able to rapidly transport, install, and operate two generators at the venue. Thanks to the efforts of Dale White, Brent Fuller, Scott Counasse, Collin Muscarella, Zach Spaulding, and Tyler Firman, the generators were installed and fully operational before the concert started, helping ensure the event could move forward as scheduled despite the ongoing power challenges affecting the area.

Situations like this demonstrate the importance of responsiveness, one of the core values that has guided Wm. T. Spaeder for more than 110 years. Our team is trained to act quickly, adapt to changing conditions, and develop solutions when unexpected challenges arise.

As Jay Spaeder, a third-generation owner and CEO of Wm. T. Spaeder, put it best, “This is what we do.” For more than a century, our company has been built on a commitment to serving our customers and community whenever and wherever we are needed, and that commitment remains as strong today as it was when our company was founded in 1914.

Following the event, America250PA shared its appreciation for the support provided by Wm. T. Spaeder, stating that our team’s “swift action is a testament to why they are a local cornerstone” and thanking the company “for saving the day and keeping Pennsylvania celebrating.” We are grateful for their kind words and proud to have played a role in helping ensure the concert could move forward for the thousands of attendees who gathered to celebrate.

We were honored to support the America250PA concert and help ensure a memorable event for our community. We are proud of the employees who answered the call and exemplified the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service that define Wm. T. Spaeder.
